I just bought a 98 Golf. How did you get the gauge cluster to light up like that? Mine appears to just have a few lights pointing at the gauges from above.

did you fiberglass the side moldings flat?

@xxkoadyxx yes I did...I used the Bondo fiberglass resin because it will not crack like normal Bondo

We have a 1998 VW Golf and love it, it has 158,000 miles and runs perfect.
It needs new shocks in the rear, were they hard to replace? Nice job.

@dankbobby technically they are not hard to replace at all, but I did not do it myself because the springs need compressed and I do not have the tools. I would take it to a mechanic to do it because it's not very expensive ($80-100 for rear only)...or you could take them off yourself and then just take them to a mechanic to put the springs back on ($30-40)
