i was under the impresssion that "transformer oil" is just mineral oil. couldnt stink too terrible.

Lucky for you it might of been polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB). That's one hell of a clean up job.

You're lucky, lol. Transformer oil, especially old oil, has a horrible smell..kinda like mouldy tuna meets smelly smeakers. :) I found out when I got to open an old one up years ago.
