A Canadian rock band owns the website domain teaparty.com and it may sell it for a million dollars, preferably to Jon Stewart of The Daily Show or Stephen Colbert among others. Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian and Ben Mankiewicz discuss on The Young Turks.

  • I generally agree with you guys (TYT), but you are not very informed about "The Tea Party (Band)." The group already has made millions from records and touring. They are not some indie no- name band. They could easily make a few million from touring again. Youtube some of their songs (ie. Messenger, Heaven Coming Down etc.) PS. They are not a Christian Rock band!

  • @Saaduk92 99% of teabaggers don't even know what "tea-bagging" is ...

  • lol, everyone seriously calm down. the band sold 1.6 million records between 1990 and 2005. thats 15 years! no doubt they were succesful until they broke up but were not exactly the canadian U2 or Coldplay. 1 million dollars is 1 million dollars (333,000 per member) take the money!

  • TYT is so fucking stupid. I'm unsubbing, DO YOUR GOD DAMN RESEARCH. it is so painful to see you guys laughing and joking about something when you have NO IDEA what you are talking about

  • I just listened to Sister Awake because I was curious about the band.

    Fucking AWESOME music!

    That stuff is great.

  • Hey TYT: just because a band never made it big in YOUR country doesn't mean they're some small time band that never made a buck ! I've noticed something about TYT over the years: the moment they discuss something that's not American, they fuck up. They might be «liberals», but they're just as ignorant about the rest of the world as conservative Americans are.

  • Come on cenk you gotta do some research. listen to save me and sister awake. You too ana

  • They're back together, dorks.

Tea Party fucking rocks and you can bet they made millions of dollars for the decade-and-a-half they were active, recording, and touring. You mad.

  • This is really sloppy journalism that I'd expect more from the extreme right wing than these guys. You really have to do a bit more research past the wiki page. They make the band The Tea Party out to be some obscure Canadian rock band. They were very radio friendly and in regular roation on major stations in the 90s and quite big. They're just about to head out on a reunion tour and not surpised they don't want to ditch their site.

  • 0:44 - FUNNIEST SHIT I'VE HEARD ALL WEEK!

  • @RyantheCanuckpirate It's been too long, I'ma go listen to The Bazaar :p

  • Huh? They haven't been "broken up for 7 years".. they re-united in April of this year. Unless this video is mad old and is just being released now. Also, maybe this is just the sensitive fanboy in me, but they were an awesome fuggin band, and actually pretty damn big in Canada, and in some overseas markets like Australia if my memory isn't failing. Anyone my age (19) or older has def. heard of em
