"All For Animals" host Susan Richard speaks with volunteers at the Manhattan shelter of Animal Care & Control of New York City, and talks about an ACC program that waives the adoption fee for adult cats (1 year and older) through Labor Day (2009).

Please note, the animals featured in this episode were available as of filming, on July 23, 2009. If they're not available when you inquire, please know that there were many other healthy, friendly perfectly fabulous cats and dogs for you to choose from. (**UPDATE: Lancelot the cat was adopted and is now Emperor of the Apartment and a very happy happy boy. YAY.)

For photos and bios of the animals, please visit www.nycacc.org.

"All for Animals" is a New York City based program that aims to further the cause of animal welfare by offering useful information to pet parents and encouraging the adoption of shelter animals to help NYC achieve its goal of becoming a no-kill city.

Susan Richard is a long time radio personality who can be heard anchoring the news on 1010WINS. Visit www.susanrichard.com.

  • I am interested in this dog

  • @jurgenmanfred Hi!! This video was filmed over a year ago so King is no longer there. It was my understanding that he was pulled out of the shelter by one of the "New Hope Partners" of the Mayor's Alliance for Animals so chances are good that he was adopted!

  • @allforanimalstv God I hope he is got a good home....I am always concerned when it comes to pitbulls.....If u ever have another please contact me....although I already have 4 rescues from Mexico....thanx for letting know

  • @jurgenmanfred: Animal Care & Control always has pit bulls available if you're looking to rescue one. Their website: nycacc.org. And thanks again for watching the video!
