Teaching baby rat a trick (spin)

Teaching my five week old baby rat, Cloud, to spin. He's very treat-motivated and now spins without the food to lead him (not in this video).

First step is leading the rat with a treat, and after a few repetitions he already doesn't need the food in front of his nose. Eventually they associate the trick with a word/intonation and know there's a treat afterwards. I'm using tiny bits of chicken in this video.

Rats are smart; it only takes a couple sessions to get this simple trick!

I'm doing the same thing with my rats! They still need the treat most of the time, but your video description reassures me than they will eventually do it without the food!
