The Fargo and Moorhead communities sit on the brink of an impending citywide record flood. And even while staring the danger straight in the face, the residents of these fair cities rise above it and state boldly, "We do what is heroic simply because it is needed." God bless the residents of Fargo and Moorhead in the days ahead [posted on 03.25.09] - YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

  • it is so incredible that we live in a community that can pull together like no other comminuty and beat a national disater that should have taken out the city. thank you so much to all those who were there in the lines, filling bags and keeping everyone fed! no where else in the world can you find a community with the ambition and good hearted-ness as the f-m and surrounding areas. god bless this area looks like we have to do it again!

  • @MikeyBfromND: It looks like we'll be in for a Round Three. Go to this same YouTube channel and type in "Fargo Moorhead Flood 2011 - Hoedl" and you can see the first video I posted for 2011. More to come...

  • get ready for round 3 this spring...

  • @pinkdancer4: Go to this same YouTube channel and type "01.19.11 Fargo-Moorhead Flood 2011 Overview" in the search engine - yes, it looks like Round 3 might be at hand...

  • we should give a big thanks to all the young people in our community, high school and college. without them, there would have been so many less volunteers out there helping. i was up at the fargo dome for what we called the night shift almost every night and i saw a lot of my classmate there

  • I agree with you 100% I was at the FARGODOME most nights and at the neighborhood dike-building and there were always college and high school students present. What a wonderful example of present and future leadership.

  • On Wednesday march 25th I celebrated my birthday, I celebrated by going down to Fargo and sandbagging :) Best birthday ever.

  • I have never been to North Dakota but from what I have seen, the people in this state are to be admired and respected for the way they band together to face adversity.

In an age where incompetence is rewarded with "bailouts", the people of North Dakota ask for nothing, they just take care of business stoically and without complaint.

    North Dakota....I salute you.

  • Dinnis is the best mayer ever ps im bad at spelling

  • I was there and we had to evacuate our house and it was scary not knowing if our house was ok

  • I remember worrying every minute during this flood. I was afraid my dr was going to get angry with me, because I was wearing a halter monitor to try determine issues with my heart but I was still out sandbagging everyday. It seemed like you could literally watch the water levels rise. I remember watching this video during the flood and just crying. I am so proud to be living in the F-M area. There are a lot of amazing people here. 2010's flood was stressful too, but nothing like 2009's

  • if you never lived here during this you will never know how bad it acctuall was, and will be again soon!!!

  • Ah yes...i remember working 12 hour shifts working entry security at rose creek...go army and air force lol...i wonder if we will have another flood this year.

  • I love my home, Fargo. I thank all of you that helped save it.
