News conference, late October 1987. He talks about; Stock market, Middle East, terrorism, the economy, taxes, and every time he moves his arms the camera shutters go crazy. A President could have a lot of fun with that.

  • and people criticize Obama for reading a teleprompter.....every time this blithering idiot looks down, he is reading off a paper. He sounds like he has no idea what he is talking about, everything is scripted....his idiocy isn't as pronounced as Bush's, but it burns just as brightly.

  • @JP1226294 And you expect people to take your comment seriously? I mean the video is there for all to see. It is as if it is nighttime, and you are telling the people how bright the sun is shinning. We have our own eyes, we we see what is in front of us.

  • The answer is no. But you must also remember that his budget proposals were for less spending than the democrats wanted, and that they were declared by the democrat leadership "dead on arrival." So what good would it have done to send them an even more unrealistic budget?

  • @plunderpunk2 I've read in various publications that he was referring to the Contras. I've never sought the primary source. Maybe he said the same thing about the Muj. It wouldn't redeem him much for me, though. He loved the Contras, and continued to support them, even when doing so was illegal, and even though the Contras committed over 90% of the human rights violations (castrations, gang rapes, decapitations) in Nicaragua.

  • @emearsful "He called the Contras "the moral equivalent of our founding fathers" and remarked that human rights reports condemning Guatemalan death squad atrocities constituted a "bum rap."'

I've read that he was referring to the Afghan Mujahaddin with the founding fathers comparison.

  • He supported the slaughter of 200,000 Central Americans and the systematic rape and torture of many more!

He called the Contras "the moral equivalent of our founding fathers" and remarked that human rights reports condemning Guatemalan death squad atrocities constituted a "bum rap."

He also supported every right-wing maniac in the world, from Marcos to Suharto to S. Africa's Apartheid Regime.

  • @EddieLandsberg Shoot, if that's your criteria, Obama's pretty awful, too.

  • @brockinit22 Except that you tripled the national debt, poverty rose 1/3 under you, unemployment hit 10% and you sold arms to the Iranians... otherwise you were the greatest !!!

  • I watch these videos and think of junior and wonder what the hell happened to lincoln's party?

  • Acting President. IRAN CONTRA DRUG DEALING MURDERING SCUM.........

  • Great President, perhaps the greatest since Coolidge. With the exception of Eisenhower, the rest between are largely dross.
