I could not disagree more with Quesada. The appeal of Batman's character is that that's who he is at the core. All you need to know about Bruce Wayne is that his parents were killed when he was a kid. That's it. Fleshing out his personality would seem... just out of place. Look at Frank Miller's All Star Batman. He just came across as a weirdo.
