Pokémon Red. Getting Missingno early in the game!

Hello. Time to play Pokémon! So, ok, I watched some videos that shows How to catch Mew, So I did that. But I also tried it out on other trainers you need to defeat to let that glitch to work! You can catch more pokémon with it and even pokémon that are not in this version or you need a link cable for. I just caught a Gengar using that glitch too on another trainer. You can even get Missingno using this glitch! Remember that you must use the trainer you pause and teleport on. The trainer in the grass in the beginning of the video.

so really the missingno here replaces the mew that used to be there?

No, it doesn;t replace it. Beacting different trainer has an effect on what the pokémon will be.

You have to beat the trainer with the level 17 Slowpoke to let Mew appear with that glitch :)

@neoevil: Sice it's in the very beginning of the game, you can give it a try!

The advice is, put Rare candy on 6th place on your items, then, catch Missigno, it's weak, just level 7. You can start speedrunning the game if you caught and put all other pokemon on the boxes. I'm not sure if Missigno can learn all the HMs needed for CUT, Fly, Flash you need for the game. if he doesn't bring a weak pokémon that knows the HM moves for your 'Missingno only' run. Good luck :)

@neoevil: I'm doing that, I just did the LM4 Gameshark code. LM4 is a safer version of Missingno which not screws up the game.

Now I'm doing a LM4 only run. :)

this would be awesome for a tas with rare candy. I've only once made a tas under 200 minutes.
