@AvengerOnEuclid Even though we disagree on McGuire, I too though Don May was a great actor. Its such a shame they just bumped him off. Maybe they thought he was overshadowing the "Mike" character who was supposed to be the 'star' along with "Nancy". BTW I LOVED "Mike" & "Nancy" who sometimes got pushed to the back-burner but were never totally forgotten as the 'tentpole' characters as most other soaps do when the main characters reach a certain age.
@butchboy13 Oh, I ADORED Maeve, her chemistry with Adam (Donald May) ranked right up there with "Doug & Julie" or "Steve & Alice" . To me, she was just too mature (OLD) for Crothers. Since Adam was killed off, then McGuire left, it was fine to me that they cast a much younger girl in the role. Jayne was so sweet, she sent me a huge 8 by 10 autographed photo and Terry Davis (April) sent me a beautiful postcard of herself.
@rhettsamigo2003 Jayne was my favorite 'Nicole', she learned her craft quickly. Lisa Sloan was likable too but I never could stand McGuire. She always came off so phony to me. Just my opinion guys so don't try to crucify me.
My favorite soap opera of all time!. Was watching it rerun on AOL about a year and a half ago. Really wish they would put several seasons on DVD to purchase. Meantime love seeing it here.
I remember Deborah's apartment...I thought it was so realistic.
It was small yet it looked homey. And we too had one of those locks with an iron bar on the front door.
EDGE had some shabby looking sets but that's part of the show's charm. It was all about the actors and the stories. EDGE should be revived without all the bells and whistles.
Even though Maeve McGuire was very elegant , older, and more seasoned than Jayne Bentzen, I really enjoyed this 2nd Nicole. Nicole and April make excelent "BFF"s here. Nancy was always so beautiful to me , even as a child.
