Beck was an acrobat and SRV was more of a power-lifter - both equally entertaining and valuable, musically.

@rrussell39 Jeff Beck is an absolute brilliant guitar player in his own way. Too clean? Have you heard his songs from "Jeff?" Or "Who Else?" That's anything BUT clean and proper. He's extremely versatile and CAN be clean and proper, but trust me. I've seen him live. Even at 67 years old he's a flawlessly talented guitar player that no one can touch. Stevie is too, but on a different level.

It does seem like Beck looks intimidated a bit, you know why? Because he said so in an interview. He said he thought that SRV could make sounds and hit multiple chords while also doing lead at the same time. I have seen both of them and Beck is a great player no doubt, but like he said himself..that guy isn't from our planet, he must be from planet guitar! Of course he is going to say that, but he meant it. Beck to me is too clinical. Too clean and proper, and he can't make 1 guitar sound like 2
