It takes 20,000-30,000 liters of water to produce 1kg of beef. We save more water by forgoing 1 pound of beef than by not showing for 6 months.

    The problem is that in intensive beef production, they don't let them eat grass, they feed them only with grain, because they grow faster this way.

  • Sounds like shaky math and science to me. A heifer drinks about 10,000 gallons of water in a 2.5 year period and yields about 1000 lbs-1800 lbs of meat. So that is 5.5 to 10 gallons of water per pound. Sure they eat grass or grain made with water, but the rain is going to fall on the grass anyway.
