On-Delay DJ Mix Mixing With Traktor and Hercules RMX

I still use Traktor 3 because I think it's more stable than pro .. I have pro but it just doesn't get used - I have 3 set up exactly how I want it. Anyway, I just put this together really just messing around wanting to make a new vid, but figured I could show anyone who was thinking about getting Traktor or a Hercules RMX how fun it is to use. Kinda weird mixing with one hand while looking at a video screen, but I do my best - Enjoy!!

I have a question about mixing with the EQ.. I like to bring in the hihats of the next song first, but the problem is that the only way to cue/monitor with the headphones is too keep the crossfader all the way to one side, the problem is when I bring in the next song's hihats, I have to use the crossfader, but the volume of the first track goes down when I use it. Is there any way around this without having to adjust the gain while sliding the crossfader? Thanks

@SparkySubie It's not that the volume goes down, it's that the high frequency of the first track is being overtaken by track 2 .. So as you fade in track 2 , you have to fade out track 1 to make headroom for the high hats. Otherwise you just have a muddled mess of noise on the same frequency. Hope this helps.

how did you configure the hercules rmx to work with traktor...or does traktor just automatically detect it as an usb controller?

@PaisaBoyTV There's a .TKS file on Hercules website for Traktor, or you may have to google it & download the one from DJTechTools . That's what I did, then I tweaked the hell out of it for my benefit.

3 is more stable than pro????? are you kidding me???? if your comp cant handle pro yes but I have pro with timecodes and a fully loaded comp and it is never unstable and ive never had it be unstable at any gigs.

@FLefty18 Thanks for the tip, I understand what you mean but that wasn't the problem. The way a crossfader works means the volume will go down if there are no low's or mids playing on the second track. I figured I could use the deck volume sliders instead though, so it's all good.
