  • very good. . . corelli is the best

  • Corelli's music is pure beauty. He is without a doubt one of my favorite composers. The Purcell Quartet really does this music justice too.

  • @festeringtool - Good research point. Who would you say were the the composers who preceded Corelli? Would be good to check them out if they're on the toob here and make some comparisons.

My impression is that Albinoni's larger works had that conventional element but his sonatas sound much more experimental. There's a rumour flying around that Bach was very much influenced by (at least some) of Albinoni (moreso than by Corelli?).

Would be very interesting to get some timeline appreciation :)

  • @crackersjv Corelli only sounds conventional because he established the conventions! I don't think there is another baroque composer who so strongly influenced his contemporaries and the immediate generation after.

  • Well, not sure one could say Corelli is the best. Sounds rather conventional against Albinoni. Kind of like all rock guitarists compared to Hendrix ;) Kind of pleasant tho :)

  • You've got loads of Corelli vids.!~great
