Whether you practice judgmental legalism or relativistic atheism you are practicing a form of religion that is opposed to the gospel of grace found in Jesus Christ.

This clip is taken from the sermon "The Rebel's Guide to Joy in Conflict," preached by Pastor Mark Driscoll at the Mars Hill Church Ballard campus in Seattle, Washington, on November 18, 2007. It is the 7th sermon in our sermon series on the book of Philippines.

  • Good video. Interesting preacher.

  • I was once like the girl on the film, Galatians addresses these issues. God saves is and transforms us we do not. Again Pastor Mark preaches the truth in love.

  • very good all he said, it's all about Jesus! but i thought it was wrong for the guy to be smoking and then cursing, not to be judgmental or anything, but it just gives his church a bad image,,,

  • @mhcseattle --you mean the book of Philippians? You wrote "Philippines" in the description...

    :)

  • @nicodemous52

    Good point.

  • I was once a pothead and I never saw a problem with it insofar as GOD is concerned, and to a point I still don’t. However, there was once when I was out and I found myself desperately inspecting trays and hiding places for any little specks of weed I could find, and also working very hard to scrape my pipe to claim the resin. Then it dawned on me…Have I ever been so desperate for Jesus that I spend so much time and effort looking for a mere scrap of scripture? Therein lays any problem with pot

  • Is it me, or did that look like a Mury intro promo???

  • Being respectful of peoples differences is the most important thing? So it's not loving people?

  • @Taurion4467 Well yeah.

  • haha this is awesome make christians look bad i guess thats the goal in the end ey

  • @NightHawkBomber001 Good works will not save you, nor applying those principals he taught. As it is said, no man can enter into The Kingdom of Heaven without first accepting Christ as they're redeemer. These ppl will have an opportunity to learn of the Gospel of Christ before the great judgment day and choose weather to except or deny it. Best thing is to do both do good works out of the goodness and kindness or your heart and having an unshaken faith in Christ.
