Mt. St. Helens Sasquatch -- Wood Knocking Recording (Read Description)

This shows the location where my dad and I recorded a set of 2 wood knocks after I did a vocalization. We had been in Washington since about 6 days before because of a BFRO expedition that we had just attended 2 days prior to this (Olympic Peninsula 2008). This was our last night before heading back to Florida and we decided to try for some activity on our own one last time. We Headed out at around 9:30 PM or so to some other location first (other than the one depicted in the video) and did a few calls with no response (except from a few barred owls). After about 20 minutes we moved to the spot shown in the video (the pull-off area on the right) where I only made 2 calls, with this excellent response following about 15 seconds after. The "noise-maker" could not have been more than 50 ft from us into the tree line. (in case you were wondering, the call that I did preceding these knocks was a long deep "yell") As you can tell from my reaction, I was pretty freaked out by how close this thing was to us, and I've been kind of embarrassed about it :P Nothing else happened after that, even when we made a few more calls and turned our headlights on (a last resort before we left).

That's what I thought too when it happened, like it was charging at me (note the "Holy Crap!" xP). Later I filtered out the background noise and echo and it really sounded like wood hitting wood. Regardless, I still think it's definitely squatch related.
