If anything, this episode gave more cause for hope; it demonstrated the strong spirit, and good nature of Obama's supporters. Faced with hardship and disappointment, lacking assistance, they pulled together and made the best they could of a bad situation.
This is exactly what Americans needs to do in the coming years. Taking cheap potshots and treating the governance and fate of our nation like a bitter football rivalry will sink us.
The time has come to set aside childish things.

Really nice distillation of the tunnel experience. It's worth noting that the guys in the window toward the end were in a homeless shelter. It seemed fitting.
Of course this wasn't Obama's fault. It was the PIC and the Capitol Police's responsibility and failure.
