@joab302016 He had been poisoned shortly before the photo, was not expected to live. Jesus and Moses had beards. Men do grow beards. Does this reveal an expectation of a shaven Messiah on your part? A crew cut, perhaps? ;-) Just teasing, but really. Prison and torture do have an affect upon one's appearance. Jesus was not too comely upon the cross, I presume. God bless you, and there is no need to reply. Thank you for your time, and patience with me.
This first video is actually very informative and for the most part accurate. It is very nice of you Mr. Martin, to spread the Glad Tidings that Baha'u'llah has come in all His Great Glory. I am looking forward to watching the rest of it. The only thing I would add is that the Bab, Siyyid Ali Muhammad, is "the Promised Christ", the Messiah, the Qa'im, and, like John the Baptist, the Bab was also a Herald. John heralded the Son of God. The Bab heralded the Father of Christ and His Son.
@fsmtdaler I cannot add any responses to you anymore. I just feel that my journey with you has ended. While reading your posts I searched google and found the passport picture of Bahaulah. I will not be surprised if you have long beards too. Im not saying that in a derogatory way.
@joab302016 For me, to be called a "Christian", would be like yourself saying, "Im still a Jew" That would fall short of the correct identity. I'm only saying that I still believe in Christ and Moses, more than ever, in my 30 years of being a Baha'i, and feel part of the One Fold and the One Shepherd, and testify to you about it, here, on this site, where Baha'is are attacked, not even allowed to fully answer questions. This site was posted by supposed representatives of Christian belief.
@joab302016 Well, you put it well, for you do not call yourself a Jew, yet you believe in the Prophets of old. Please read Isaiah 62:2 and Rev 3:12 "Thou shalt be called by a New Name, which the Mouth of the Lord shall utter, which none knoweth save him that receives it." This Faith is not some simple passing cult, it carries the weight of change and challenge, the same as what Jesus bore, and Moses before Him. We Baha'is are sincere, willing to sacrifice everything for that belief.
@fsmtdaler My only objection with you is when you try to be like us (me and my friend Fisherman) when in reality you are not a NT based Christian. By your admission you are a follower of Bahai. And now since this matter is clear to us, I guess this concludes my discussion with you. I respect you as a human being. I hope that one day soon your friends will be free and be compensated justly for her time in prison that shouldn't happen in the first place.
@fsmtdaler in the same way, our islamic friends cannot be called christians too. Even if they believe in Jesus and his virgin birth, there is no way for them to become like me. I believe in the NT and islam totally rejects it. You are a Bahai and I respect you for that.
@fsmtdaler Moses obeyed the burning bush. He obeyed God when he was ordered to go to Pharaoh. He obeyed God when he is about to be stoned by the Israelites. He obeyed God in everything. Will you do the same? He slaughtered the Amelekites when it wasn't convenient for him to do that at that time and yet he trusted and obeyed God. My friend I know you are going soon but I admit that I learned a lot from you concerning Bahai faith. What to give up about Moses? He followed Gods Commands.
@joab302016 Joab, I must go soon, but I wanted to thank you for being honest here. This is a hard venue for communication, you know, and it is hard to measure someone's sincerity. There is something about religion which is challenging. It brings out the best and the worst in people. All we can do is articulate in words what perspective is, and make room for another to do the same. I grant you your perspective. Please grant me mine. You did not give up Moses by accepting Jesus. Did you?
@joab302016 Friend, I do not claim to be a "New Testament Christian" I am a Baha'i, which means that I identify myself as one who believes in the One called Baha'u'llah, the Glory of God. I see no contradiction between Him and Jesus, the Christ, just as I see no contradiction between Christ and Moses, or Moses and Abraham. Do you understand this position? It is difficult for some, from whatever perspective, and it represents a challenge to even consider as a possibility.
