Been thinking of getting a tang sight and was wondering how the thumb was used when the sight is covering the tang. Looks like it just sits along the side rather than over top???

Yeah, I put my thumb on the side. You can hook your thumb around the rear of the sight but I don't like to since the recoil can push the sight into the web of your hand. You can also operate the lever quicker if you don't hook your thumb around the handle.
