How to get 2.2 on Droid X

The website used in this is alldroid.org. All props go the the admins of this site for all the hard work they've done for the developer community.

Here are my instructions to install 2.2 on your sd card.

1. Make sure all bloatware (factory installed applications that no one cares about) is on device as if you just got it out of the box.

2. Shut off phone.

3. Remove sd card.

4. Insert sd card into computer.

5. Go to one of these links: (thank you alldroid for providing these links)

6. Download the update.zip file (DO NOT EXTRACT, JUST SAVE IT AS IS).

7. Copy the update.zip file to your micro sd card (still zipped).

8. Insert sd card in phone.

9. Hold power and home buttons simultaneously until an android logo comes up, it will come up after the moto icon so just sit tight. (it looks like an error icon at first glance but it isnt)

10. Press the physical search key.

11. By tapping on the screen, highlight the update option near the top of the screen. ( I believe its option two or three)

12. Select "Ok" by pressing either the physical home or menu button. (I don't remember which)

13. Sit tight for about 10 minutes at the most and let it do its work.

It was kind of laggy at first, but after about 5 minutes of use and a reboot it's running incredibly.
