I drive in the city a lot, but also work on ranches (I don't tow anything though). Would this be a good car to get? I'm also looking at a suzuki sx4 crossover, have you driven those yet? If so, how do they compare?

@halfgoodhalfevil Jeep offers a "Trail Rated" edition of the Patriot, a name that it only applies to vehicles with serious off-road capabilities, including climbing steep hills, crawling over rocks and fording streams. But any four-wheel drive Patriot is going to be better suited for driving on rough trails or through fields than the all-wheel drive Suzuki SX4.

@AutoTrader The SX4 is also a great vehicle -- offering all-wheel drive at an affordable price -- but it's better suited for slippery roads than going off road.

No off road drive test? What is the point of buying it compared to, say, a Ford Focus wagon if you drive on pavement? Right, Ford does not make the Focus wagon anymore. I would still get a used Focus than a new Patriot.

@LeadHammer We didn't have an opportunity to take the Patriot off-road this time around, but we'll make sure to include an off-road component in future Jeep (or other 4x4 vehicle) videos. Thanks for the suggestion!

(I'm aware this is 2011 model) Does the 2012 model offer iPod/iPhone hook up? And I noticed a blue led light in the cup holders.... Is this standard on any model on the 2012 jeep patriots?

I love my new baby 2011 jeep patriot <3 latitude package with heated seats and amazing sound system...deff bringing girls in that car, great 16th birthday present :)

The Jeep Patriot is the best model that Jeep currently offers. It really is. My parents have one right now and it definitely gives you the most bang for your buck. It gets good gas milage compared to the Grand and the Wrangler. Its a 4x4 and is a beast in the snow. Its got descent space, good gas milage, and plenty of that good ol' Jeep ruggedness. All in all, its the best model you can get. It reminds me of the old Cherokees. Too bad its going to be discontinued within the next year or so.
