So if you're a member of Congress and you want to send out more than 499 pieces of mail, you have to go through this newsletter vetting process at the franking commission-- the body that approves all official mail. The problem is, some GOP congresspeople seem to be going through this process again and again trying to explain to constituents what's on their minds, but still pass inspection with the Democrat-run proof-reading police. It's proven to be a long, annoying road for congresspeople like Wisconsin's Jim Sensenbrenner, whose newsletter is in its third draft and counting. Why can't they just say what they want like the 1st ammendment is supposed to allow them to? The commission says the newletters sound too political. Okay. You go ahead and enjoy that cap and tax, then...
I looked into this already and the "franking commission" uses the excuse that they can do this because there are both Repubs and Dems on the commission. Obviously yet another gov dept that needs to be abolished!

Talk about totally ignoring the Constitution and the First Amendment!
This issue with the franking commission really does need to be exposed much more. Thanks Rebecca for helping bring this to light.
