  • OMG, you were blessed. I mean that sincerely. I saw him open for, well I can't remember because after such a religious experience, no headliner could hope to compete. Note: this was probably THE loudest damn thing I have ever heard. And I have cred to say that with. I stood within mere feet of the Sex Pistols speakers in San Antonio. Hell, same to say with Jimi Hendrix. I was within 7 feet. With McGlaughlin I was in the balcony and it was WAYYYYY louder :)

  • @b54oramaster I don't know if I'd say 'blessed' since all I had to do was buy a ticket and drive to the venue, but I appreciate the sentiment just the same. :) It was an amazing show. It wasn't all that loud though (which made for a decent video recording).

  • what happens at 1:45??

  • @axyshay LOL. That's my favorite part.

  • @LordBling17 haha, a senior moment for the mostly youthful sexagenarian . i guess he is a septuganarian as of last month! what tune is this, do you know?

  • @jamesedwardtheobald No clue, sorry.

  • I saw the one truth band in 1978. Captain Beefheart was the opening act----very interesting

  • @LordBling17 Perhaps he's mellowing :) But I do know that back in the days of Mahavishnu Orchestra the sound was cranked up to 11 1/2 or 12 and while what I saw was not precisely Mahavishnu, it was definitely in that mode. Of course, he also plays acoustic. You can see him as a session man playing bebop in the lovely (and sort of forgotten flim) 'Round Midnight. Mahavishnu must have bitch-slapped concerts goers way back when they opened for then popular rock groups.

  • @TheArbiter74 BTW, shredding works here

  • I don't know if shredding is the correct venacular, but he is definately the BEST!!!

  • When you are playing with such an unorthodox and non-cliche style, you have to act accordingly... ha ha

He never resolves his notes... he must stay awake all night...

  • @EProtoCyberpunk thanks! i own that album, guess i haven't listened to it enough!

  • @jamesedwardtheobald This is the tune Senor CS, from Industrial Zen.
