  • No, those are fair comments! But I don't see a real difference between questions of life and scientific type questions. In fact, I wish they were all as independently confirmed (or rejected). Then there wouldn't be any more favoritism / nepotism / cronyism in this world I am sure!

  • I guess it's more about "the questions of life", and not "scientific (type) questions". Anyway, I would say that when you only have a hypotheses, it's likely to be an honest question, because you don't already have an answer (only a hypothesis). I think the "real answers" are those you understand because you personally "lived" the truth they tell. But oh, well, I shouldn't be such a smartass...

  • "An honest question is one that you do not already have an answer to".

Then hypotheses in need of confirmation would be dishonest questions? No that cannot be.

  • a denial of absolute truth with an anodyne impotent polemic based on post modernism (or "epistemological humility" haha!) is a cop out. Chrisitans are ascribed with pharasaic conduct by the non-contentious liberals. It is in fact the Pharasees that were the masters of equivocation and the artisans of nuance. They constantly quoted each other Rabbai so and so said this, Parker Palmer said that, Brian Mclaren says...

They hate the blood shed for sinners and sekk to be justified by the LAW

  • I was part of this event, and it was amazing! A real glimpse of the church as it is meant to be...full of God's grace and unity in the Spirit of Christ. The dividing walls are being torn down, and the Holy Spirit is doing a new thing with the ancient story. It may be threatening to the fearful and the dogmatic, but it gives me and many of my friends hope that there's room for us, for our minds and for our hearts, in the church.

  • finally a new prophet, a man who is not afraid to speak the truth, thank you fr. rohr
