  • i have spina bifida and i was lucky. i dont have latex allergies

  • They need to remake this video and make it national. None of these "patients" have a server latex allergy that lead to anaphylactic shock. My mother is a clear case of a server latex allergy but yet the hospital and the council refuse to believe that the allergy actually exists.

  • i like this video 4 people who don't know about it i found out i was allergic to it when i was in My EMT-B class and the kids would make jokes about it and then i got to my paramedic class when we had to wear the gloves and now they make sure that no one is wearing latex in the class and if they do i let them know not to touch me and to stand clear of me My allergy is not sever right now but i was told the more you come in to contact with the better chance of it getting worse

  • very informative!

  • The source of the latex is critical. Some forms of latex do not have these irritating proteins. Also public education of materials is essential. Many people do not know the difference between latex and pvc, vulcanized rubber and silicone. All of which have completely different chemical compositions. For example, latex paint DOES actualy have latex in it, just not the specific proteins. Did you know dendelion sap can be made into latex? And without the irritant?

  • Great info. here. I recommened checking out Vytex website. They have some good insight into latex allergy.

  • Me too.

  • I did my nursing education for 4 years in a hospital, 4 weeks after my degree i got a latex allergy, it was terrible!! people thought i was burned in my face, after 2 months i had to leave hospital and search for other work. So 4 years it was no problem and suddenly it broke out, from one day to the other. I was defestated that i couldn't work in the hospital anymore.

    thanks for posting these vids.
