What does a six-man canoe have to do with a long distance service? Hmmnot sure. But we had fun doing it. The six paddlers in the spot were the elite of canoe paddlers in HawaiiBlue Makua, Jr., Kamoa Kalama, Luana Froseith, Nappy Napoleon, Rosie Lum, and the late Kala Kukea. And the canoe that they paddled was the legendary Malia, the koa canoe that became the model for nearly every fiberglass canoe that is in the water today.
