Who else is totally excited for Patti's new album "Outside Society" to be released 8/23?! I can't wait!!
-
@michaelocinneide hmmm...research Ani Difranco. That lady did it without a label.
-
@slippolives I agree, and it's totally self indulgent.

i wouldnt buy that lads.. chilis are great and maybe dont owe anything to Patti but Patti has more integrity than any musician Ive ever heard or seen. Hands down. she is a bit of a poster girl for that generation in fairness but massively relevant still.. just read rimbaud...

not quite right yogini....
1. patti didn't invent the punk movement, she contributed to lyrical presentations in her era which was mid to late seventies, thats about it, i saw her live at the whiskey in like 75 i think, she was great, but like dylan she did her thing and then became irrelevant, for bob the wall was in 66, but he kept going creatively for another ten years and then his wheels when completely flat
2. the peppers are pure talent, skill, integrity, humility and are nice guys
-
she is considered to have made the very first punk record in 1973, research that in case you care, the record was entitled Hey Joe/Piss Factory and is a legend. the peppers wouldnt have gotten far without her, but let me tell you i am a huge peppers fan and used to listen to them like every night before falling to sleep (ha i know that sounds funny its not exactly classical music or something super chill)...anyway people need to learn who patti smith is im shocked more people dont know

patti smith (look her up if you don't know much) is freakin' legend, and the peppers are really really good...awesome. this is good its just the sound quality isn't the best so people quit whining about the sound quality because it is really hard to take a video with a very low-quality camera at a concert with thousands of people with that much raw energy from the godmother of punk and those boys and fans going nuts...yeah. anyway i like it
-
@whothehellgivesadamn she is the nicest lady i have ever met and i believe you about the peppers being that nice too, they were both really lucky- patti is legend, largely considered the godmother of punk and for making the very first punk record way back in 1973 when most people were still hippies and it was like "wow!" when that record hit and the peppers are at this point legends too. both patti and the peppers are important to music because both are innovative so theres no need to argue

This is horrible

wrong robert.........ive seen both of them live...and the chilli peppers are very wonderful people that goes beyond just their entertaining play.........they are fun and they are really nice guys.......the essence of good entertainment....
Well, I think that Patti Smith represents what rock'n'roll was all about in its pure form... I saw her many of her performances in London and New York. Do try to see her live, it's quite an experience!
