  • I'd rather listen to this version than the original. Neither of them are written by the singer, so the notion that the original is better is countenanced, and merely becomes a contest between which one sounds better. And to me its this one

  • I love this song by Beverley! Such an amazing voice she has!

  • Awesome singer and most beautiful black lady. I wonder why she is not more famous. Perhaps more commercial type tracks would get her out there.

  • @senseofthenone cool... learning is cool... Janis didn't write much but she sung the hell out of some soul songs :) right?

  • @zachmasterzach don't know if you remember your comment from two months ago, on this Beverly Knight video (singing "Piece of My Heart"), but if no one told you already, Erma Franklin sang this first, it was later covered by Janis Joplin, that is what was meant in the comments from the uploader

  • @pdy15 I know shes not the original singer, nd yeah Erma Franklin is, I thought you said she wrote it, my bad.

  • @21ricky666 this song was originally sung by Aretha franklin's sister Erma who was a R&B singer then it was COVERED by janis you people really need to do your research dumb asses

  • @pdy15 wrong.

  • @CinCinBreezy bwahahah janis Joplin is NOT the original singer the song was sung by erma franklin the sister of aretha franklin it was a R&B song first

  • she sounds good, but she she took a rock song and made it into an rock/r&b song. should have just kept it rock.

  • Janis Joplin had the best version... However, this isn't terrible.
