Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to the end of the twentieth century and the arrival of friendly fascism.
Regrettably, millions will die as before. But just think of the tremendous selection and savings you'll gain.
Of course the loss of freedom and democracy are tragedies, I know, but consider the entertainment value contained within and to remind you, it is you, the people, who have mandated this course of our fate so please come with me...
Look at the new face of power in America. This is your future you can never leave. Who said tyranny can't be fun? Friendly fascism having so much fun, what else do you need?

You'll learn to like what you must do. If you resist you are suppressed. You
are told who to fight and when by Bush/Obama the Nazi Fascist Friends. Alienating technology
wipes out our sense of community. Millions will die just like before. We disconnect and
start the war. We make life a commodity. We turn animals into machines. Kinder and
gentler slaughter house. Big business and big government distract us with entertainment.
They manufacture our consent while we destroy the environment."

  • People, if the world is that terrible for you, then just kill yourself, and make room for those who try to improve it rather than constantly cry about it. Cool video Oraculator!!

  • equating obama to bush and you lose me.

  • they were 20 years early.

  • Anarchy shouldn't be about having no laws. It should be about having no need for them.

  • @jymdyer I'm not taking the position that anarchism has to be mindless (although I think right now it is pretty mindless in a lot of ways).

I'm aware of the statement of the song, even without reading the book and I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to impress upon me.

  • @matcat Anarchism doesn't have to be that mindless. The song is about a book, the book is about opening our eyes and discerning things more clearly.

  • @jymdyer My post was to an earlier commenter who questioned why Obama would be represented in this video. My point was, from far enough away, the distance between any two points (physically, or in this case ideologically) shrinks to an almost nonexistent one. To an anarchist, any statist is a statist and it matters very little if they are fascists or not. There's nothing incongruous about using Obama in this video, anymore than Bush or anyone else. It's all smiley faces now.

  • @housetaboo You could probably stand to read the book and learn something from it.

  • @matcat @matcat The phrase "far left viewpoint" is pretty meaningless, as is the misuse of the word "fascism." Bertram Gross was concerned about real live actual well-defined aspects of fascism and the way it could be spun with marketing techniques. It came out in the Reagan/Bush years, and Consolidated sought to draw attention to it during the first Iraq war. A cavalcade of teabagger "Obama is HItler" illustrations is simply moronic.

  • Obama isn't Hitler. This video is idiotic, ridiculous and a-historic. I very much doubt members of the defunct music collective Consolidated would agree with their music being used this way. Nor would Bertram Gross author of the important book, Friendly Fascism. The ultra right loves to call Obama a fascist and a socialist in the same breath - don't give their idiocy any more credence by circulating such bullshit.
