PTL / Heritage USA New Years Eve Televised Event With Jim & Tammy Bakker 12/31/86- Vid #7

Again Jim mentions the Crystal Palace which he is intending on building in 1987.

At 3:33 Jim introduces both Tammy Faye & Tammy Sue, who sing their duet, "Lean On Me". What may be a minor technical glitch, other voices are heard, seemingly coming from the PA system. Nevertheless, Tammy Faye, always the TV professional, ignores it completely, and leads the way as the show continues on.

This is the identical to the video I had uploaded about a month ago of both Bakkers singing this same duet, recorded from this same program.

True to his nature, Jim turns the program on its side once again by having the entire audience stand up to a repeat of the chorus of "Lean On Me". Again, I hated to interrupt a song mid-way, so video #8 picks up a the beginning of this audience participation part of this song.

The "Crystal Palace" never got built, one of many lies that Jiimmy Bakker told his legions of suckers! Jimmy Bakker was and is full of shit and himself! Jim Bakker used every opportunity to raise money for his own monument to himself!

It's odd and silly that you mention "for his own monument to himself". You see, no where in Heritage USA were there ever monuments, portraits, sculptures, statues or anything else glamorizing Jim & Tammy. Their names were not on any building. They didn't go around saying "I built this building and that building." They said that "God people built PTL" and "The PTL Partners built Heritage USA."

Obviously they DID have to rasie money to run the place, since PTL was not a cheaply-designed park.

Have you ever bothered to read "Forgiven, The Rise and Fall of Jim Bakker and the PTL Ministry"? Its author is Charles E. Shepard, who won a Pulitzer Prize for his reporting for the Charlotte Observer that eventually brought down the PTL and sent Jim Bakker to prison. Before you attempt to defend Bakker or PTL you need to read this book. I stand by what I've said!

Yes I have read it. Do you realize how biased that book is? Shepard also wrote 100s of stories about PTL, Heritage USA and Jim & Tammy for YEARS for the newspaper (his employer). Don't you think Shepard is a little biased? The real question is, Have YOU read 'Jim Bakker: MIscarriage of Justice'? It's written by James A. Albert, who is a law professor, trial lawyer, and expert on broadcast law.

Read it and get BOTH sides of the story before making comments about which you seem to know little.

Although I am not a Christian ,and have never been a big fan of televangelists, I read his book called "I Was Wrong" and BOY was it an eye opener! Jim Bakker really did get railroaded on the charges. Long story short, he was found "NOT GUILTY" by a federal court/jury years later. And you have to remember, he got 45 years for a white collar crime; child molesters and murderers don't even get that . Plus, the judge in his first case was very biased against Christians from the start.

Oh I agree with C-GIFT- FORGIVEN was just an amazing read, but amazing and fact are 2 different parts of Charles Shepard's book. He wrote,many untrue volumes in that book. I compare it with the Nat Enquirer. He never went direct to either Jim or Tammy so how can it be a justifiable book. Tammy Faye finally had C Shepard to set and answer to her questions on the many lies wrote in that book, and sadly C- Shepard jump roped over each question. That book is not accurate-

funny how Tammy Fay came to be more respected than Jimmy in later life. "Died Penniless" well I guess if you compare her income to the income she had when they were scamming their flock you are right. I think she died happy and free in the end.
