My smoke alarm periodically will give a few short beeps for no reaon at all & terrifies my dog, which frusterates me. I replaced the battery & sometimes it wtll still give a few spuratic beeps for no reason just randomly. ugh Ive actually taken it down, removed the batery & with No Battery & it sitting on the table, it will Still beep a few times. Paranormal??

My detector is being every 30 seconds or so. Strange thing is the sounds only go off in the afternoon from say 12:00 to 6 pm, then it stops and starts again the next day, about the same time. Anyone knows why? The reason I'm not replacing the battery yet is because it's placed in a high spot, in the attic, and I will need someone to help climb up to replace the battery. Just wondering why it only goes off in the afternoon.

I sublet a house years ago to a student. Since I had not lived there myself, I cautioned him as he occupied the house that he would need to check the batteries in the smoke alarms. He looked annoyed and told me that he had never had a problem with house fires before, and that I should not worry.
So, if he dies from smoke inhalation while he's sleeping, I guess that's just one less moron in the gene pool.
