@dwyer70905 "Dwyer Happy New Year"...And might I add, Yet another controversial outcome to a fight in 2011, 2011 was boxing's version of a soap-opera, If you ask me, Taylor wold have still won the fight, however that is irrelevant, Nicklow was still lucid enough to continue, I cant wait to hear your thoughts on Danny Garcia Vs. El Terrible.
Good video dwyer. I've had the same talk many times about the Khan McCloskey fight. So frustrating when people say "it wouldn't have mattered, khan won every round" not the point at all, strategy matters!
Yup...The referee robbed us of seeing Jermaine Taylor KO Nicklow in a dominating fashion...
Nicklow got robbed of taking more punishment because JT wasnt rattled by any of Nicklow's punches. You make a Good point with this video, but Nicklow was getting the beatdown.
i agree with you dwyer....the referee was doing a fine job until the end, when his timing was horrible...no reason to stop it until a man is defenseless or taking too much unecessary punishment....it seems that is one of the most difficult aspects of reffing a fight, since it is often the sore point after a fight, early stoppages, or sometimes letting a guy take too much punishment..in my opinion steve smoger is the best at jumping in only at the right time...
stoppage was fine. it was a total one sided fight and Nicklow was bleeding from his nose since a long time. he had no chance to win, so I dont have a problem with that stoppage
These referees must be briefed as what the acceptable amount of punishment a boxer can take on a certain night. Someone has to pay for repairs that can be very costly in this day and age. Shannon Briggs would have fought twice in the fifteen months since losing to VK if he hadn't taken such a brutal beating. Can you imagine getting $45,000 in bills from the clinics and specialists months after your last and years before your next boxing match? Taylor was scoring very good and he has a following.
i highly doubt he would of been able to do any thing at all but still i agree that it was a terrible stoppage worst stoppage i've seen in a long long time
