In the hills outside Kasempa, Zambia there is a village called Kikonkomene. The village is unique because all the people living there have had leprosy at some point in their lives. Although they don't currently have leprosy, they still struggle with the devastating effects the disease has had on their bodies. Most of them don't have use of their hands or feet and many have had limbs completely amputated. Due to these physical limitations they have been unable to work for a very long time, and no work means no source of income. To make matters worse, the social stigma surrounding the disease has caused many relatives to abandon these family members, leaving them to fend for themselves. Because they cannot work and have no source of income, most are entirely dependent on donations and aide from outside groups.

This video is of our Dec. trip to visit Kikonkomene. Because of the generosity of so many, we were able to purchase mattresses for each leper and also had the blessing of providing them with fish, oil, soap, shoes, and socks. Thank to all who made this possible.
