TUTORIAL - Ubuntu 11.04 - Connect to Xbox LIVE through Laptop/Desktop on Ubuntu

A tutorial showing an easy way of connecting to Xbox LIVE through your Ubuntu-powered Computer.
You will need:
Ethernet cable (long enough for it to reach from your Xbox to your Computer)
Wi-Fi connected Computer running Ubuntu
An Xbox 360
Tolerance of my shoddy camera work.

@XSCOPEDX96 haha, it should work up to ubuntu 11.10, ive been having trouble with that one my self recently, im looking into it though. I had it working on 11.04 but it wont seems to conenct on 11.10 :/

Is you NAT open, moderate, or strict?

@ridinVINTAGE It varies between moderate and open when i use this method, although that doesnt usually hinder me when joining others' XBL parties or games though.

hey i'm running ubuntu 11.10 and i'm trying to do the same thing with my xbox because 11.10 is pretty much the same interface the only thing different is under wired connections it says "wired connection 1" instead of "auto eth0" and it doesn't prompt for a password when changing to shared. When I set everything up the wired connection is constantly connecting and disconnecting within seconds of powering up my xbox. Any idea of why that is? Thanks

So,i have to Connect my Laptop to internet then take ethernet cable and plug it into Laptop and xbox 360 then just connect?

THis stopped working for me one day when I was using 11.04. It worked with 11.04 before but suddenly stopped working. I couldn't get it to work since. I updated to 11.10 and still nothing is working.

@iAreInvisibleMan Thanks for the reply but mine is always strict, and my xbox crashed and burned last week so I'm gonna pick up a new one with wifi so I don't have to bother anymore.
