Fire alarm with flashing LED light

saw this at the meridian mall in Lansing. the Led is to get your attention in the dark if you need to pull the fire alarm. i took this with my cell phone. the alarm was called a NOTIFIER

it surely helps with finding it in the dark but I believe the LED is mainly to indicate that it is polling for the devices to make sure they are in a normal condition (much like what a smoke detectors LED is doing.) If the pull station were to be activated it would latch in a steady red LED.

the led is part of an addressable fire alarm system. it flashes when the panel is polling the device. Latch steady in alarm
