  • Quelle belle pièce! Très impressionnant.

  • @hophmi this isn't unnecessary. Etude means "study" and this study about playing with one hands and make it sounds like two hands playing.

  • Beautifully done. I find the etude a little unnecessary. The left-handed version requires him to put the melody in the middle of the piano and it doesn't sound right. Rachmaninoff's is much more beautiful.

  • The Chuck Norris of pianists.

  • 2 people like Lang Lang.

  • @Laudan08 Its either Hamelin or Godowsky. I sort of consider Glenn Gould in his own category, as his style is so different, although his technique is undoubtedly up there with Hamelin and Godowsky.

  • Unbelievably gorgeous...

  • Hamelin: "LOOK! NO HANDS!"

  • I am an American jazz pianist. I know how difficult it is to play the piano. Marc-Andre Hamelin is able to play more music with his left hand alone, than two pianists can play with four hands on two pianos. Hamelin is so skilled, so capable, so giving and robust, that the piano is not in any way an obstacle for him. Instead, it is a manifestation of his incredible mind and soul. Piano music doesn't get any better than this. Viva, Hamelin!

  • Hamelin has passed thru time, and his music too. Hope he gets recognized, at least as the best pianist of the 21st century.
