H.R. 669: Nonnative Wildlife Invasion Prevention Act. To prevent the introduction and establishment of nonnative wildlife species that negatively impact the economy, environment, or other animal species' or human health, and for other purposes.

This will NOT affect hamsters, guinea pigs, etc. so don't drink the KoolAid the animal dealers are trying to sell you. The bill is to allow the US Fish & Wildlife Svc come up with a list of truly dangerous invasive animals that won't be allowed as pets. The parakeet police are not going to come take your pets. It is a common sense bill for people with common sense. Find out the truth from someone other than a breeder, dealer or animal exploiter.

Millions of wild animals, including reptiles, large felines, nonhuman primates, and others, are kept in private possession in the U.S. The trade in exotic animals is a multi-billion-dollar-a-year industry.

HR669 will help prevent these "pets" that often are just released into the wild from destroying our native animals and habitat.

  • Who gives a damn if someone chooses to have an animal that may be dangerous to them? There need to be regulations to prevent abuse and neglect, but DOGS and CATS and GUINEA PIGS and HAMSTERS are abused and neglected, too. There need to be stricter laws concerning ANIMAL CRUELTY. It is not cruel to keep a friggin' iguana or even a lion. I know people that have pet lions and those are some HAPPY CATS. Keep your nose out of everyone else's business.

  • @NewEnglandMultimedia lions as "pets" is absolutely 100% CRUEL.

  • I've kept exotic pets and never turned any loose. They ate only mice & rats that were bred & euthanized for the purpose of being reptile food. I've seen my next-door neighbor's cat run down squirrels & eat birds, tormenting them slowly to death, not with a quick clean bite to the throat. Last year a pack of feral dogs killed an elderly woman not far from where I live. I feel ALL pet owners should be responsible for their pets, no matter what. But don't tell me what I can or can't keep as a pet.

  • I have kept Burmese pythons and many other exotic pets all my life and I have never let any go. This bill was a joke

  • You are a dramatic propaganda believing arse

  • I'm going to be mature here and not curse you off. But I don't believe this bill had any merit. The vast majority of the invasive species problem is due to ILLEGAL activity. Illegalizing something is not going to stop illegal activity. No, it doesn't affect hamsters and guinea pigs, but it does affect large snakes. It may be a problem for FL, but not for Oregon or Maine. That's for states to regulate individually. I'd type more but I'm out of characters.

  • u suck!!!

  • @BigCatRescue You showed alot of nonnative animals but I would be willing to bet that nonnative plants are a far bigger problem. Also many of the species you seek to ban are simply not a problem outside of Florida. Because of the wide array of habitats and climate zones it would be more fair and effective to have states decide individually what they will and won't allow.

  • this is the dum thing i ever hurd i a can understand about lions and and stugg but snakes and lizzard they are pets i have a burmese python and it hasnt dies you guys need to fuck off this is going to cost alot of money and peaple there jobs and lossing there dear pets you guys are dum and even if this bill is passed i am going to owen reptiles till i die you wont stop us!!!!!!!!!!

  • fk you man do you understand that this bill will effect peoples lives so i say dislike this video because this guy ovisauley does not know what the heck he is talking about and yes it will effect hamsters and guine pigs and small rodents because they are not native to the US it effects all types of snakes and birds and even large house cats like the Australian Blue cat it also effects little frogs like what are they going to do to a person like a green tree frog what will it do to a human?

  • will this ban small exotic species like sugar gliders, hedgies or ferrets.

  • bull shit im glad this bill dident pass and to celebrate i bought a whole rack of ball pythons :)
