Fabulous singing. My goodness.

This is different from the Elizabeth Taylor movie style acting, isn't it craigenputtock? Malfitano is a trained classical actress, dancer AND singer! Your ignorance is refreshing, however.
-
@craigenputtock She is working , not in a television show. She is producing sound to fill the house. She is interpeting the role to the best of her ability. And doing a wonderfull job. She has to concentrate first and formost on her singing.

the acting is HORRENDOUS! iS SHE SERIOUS OR THIS A JOKE?

A seriously under-rated opera and significantly different from the opera that opened the "new" Met.
-
A riveting performance.

Chicago pulled off an operatic coup: eclipsed most of The Met telecasts and proved how potent is Barber's magnificent opera. The entire cast and production is nothing short of sensational and I have it beautifully preserved first on a Beta VCR recording and later transferred to a DVD format. One of my treasured operatic experiences. Thank you Chicago, Malfitano et. al.

Absolutely stunning singing from Ms. Malfitano and whoever the mezzo is. Samuel Barber would have been proud. Brava!

Honey , well....thank you very much, I let you know when I be in the other side of the bridge ... if you want ¿you could join me? It would be great...honey..

Per piacere, honey! I was merely joking. Go build a bridge to Valhalla and get over yourself!
No, no, no, sorry , Price is absolutely uncomparable....!!!. Malfitano is a good soprano but Leontyne Priice in this rol and others , ufff, is terrific !!, a Godess!!!
