Visualization of actively changing social network of party goers. Was displayed on 3 50" Plasma screens in Eyebeam HQ for their 10th Anniversary Bash.
Mike and I were hired to create the visuals that you see on these screens. In 3 short weeks we developed four different motion graphic pieces that are generated in realtime by the social network of the party at that moment.
We're capturing the social network information using devices from nTag (www.ntag.com). Holding two nTags near each other registers the interaction between the two and wirelessly submits it to a base station. We can compile all of these individual interactions to generate a big picture of what's going on.
Visualizations include:
* Who is talking to who: This is a "6-degrees" visualization where we loop through everyone connected to one focus person and what 'friend of friends' they have.
* This or That: Multiple choice questions are asked, the results of which are displayed in real time as voting occurs.
* Gossip Zombie Epidemic: We select one person to be infected with a gossip zombie virus. Everytime a non-infected interacts with an infected, that person has a small chance of contracting. This visualization shows the spread of the gossip zombie virus throughout the evening.
*Pacman high scores: Each partygoer is represented as an object from pacman as they zoom about the screen, interacting with each other. High score rolls show who is most interesting at the party.
