"Weird, wonderful, witty and unsettling."
"This will be a tough watch for many: an uncompromisingly difficult and severe experience. But I found it unique, mesmeric and sublime."
In September 2007, film critic Roger Ebert added the film to his "Great Movies" list, making it third of only four post-2000 films in the list.

  • what is the name of this song? I NEED THISSSSSS.

  • best incipit of the last 20 years.

  • eppur si muove!

  • excellent opening

  • @bussyahead09 in short: Tarr is cinematic genius :D and while others try so hard to be original, he manages to do this without any effort - or at least it looks like that ;)

  • @inhmn The cinematography throughout the entire film is rather astounding. The scene shortly after this one when the tractor is towing the whale's trailer was a bit unsettling as well.

  • in the everyday dance we call life... a cosmic event to describe existence as a mere moment that is separate from time itself, thus existence is timeless and infinite....... one would call this moment presence..... THANK YOU!!!

  • The closing quote caps the sequence off beautifully. "But Mr Hangelmayer, it's still not over." Simplicity amalgamated with profundity, the brilliance of Tarr.

  • Oh my God, this floor so clean at closing time... :))
