I'm about to get a T2i. 60p is great but no offense, it doesn't look like much of a difference for slow motion. Perhaps the stuff you were filming is just too fast or I just don't get it. Great work though. I'd love to learn how you make your films look anamorphic!

I would get Twixtor Pro. Makes slow motion look great.

looks awful bro. congrats
-
60 fps is not slow enough for this kind of stuff
-
@CrypticBTR I have since discovered that Sony Vegas has an envelope called "Velocity" that does exactly this, but thanks for your input.

Try using Twixtor pro to slow it down even further. Youtube it. It's an excellent plugin to use on 60fps footage.

@SniperWolfX117 look up keyframing in after effects. it will answer your question about gradualy decreasing the speed.
-
@InfinityRavine That's simple, those who disliked can't afford this cam...:)
-
@fozzbooks it should be 1/50 for 24 fps.

DOWNLOAD TWIXTOR,

Does After Effects allow you to gradually slow down from full speed to zero, or did you do that as an editing trick like slowing down a few frames, slow down the next few frames more, and so on?

@SniperWolfX117 After Effects does let you ramp the slo motion. This however was my first test and wasn't very good. I didn't really know what I was doing back then and the shutter speed wasn't near fast enough to get smooth slo motion. My After Effects t2i 1/1000 Pixel Motion Test is much better, but still not perfect.

how do you get the videos to look so good? i just got one as well

@Sweendogie First of all make sure your camera is set to manual video mode. Then you can customize your settings. Outside you'll want iso set to 100, shutter speed 1/30 if doing regular speed and higher is doing slow motion. Also what editing program do you use? I recommend Adobe After Effects. That's how I made it letterbox and color corrected it.

Using this shutter speed is not conventional and doesn't produce what is typically seen as good looking. Look up the 180 degree shutter rule. Basically you want the shutter speed to always be a close as possible to 1/framerate x 2. Others can be used for specific effects but you should know that putting the shutter speed at less than 1/framerate effectively reduces your framerate to you shutter speed number. Try this same test at 1/120 shutter speed. Will look way better.

@jacksonofalltrades Thanks. Is there a max shutter speed that should be used. I did one using 1/1000 shutter speed and it looked awesome except for the fast moving stuff.
