I was 7 years old and I wanted to see this movie again for a long, long time. I look for it every were the problem was the translation "solo contra el mundo"was the Mexican name they gave to it. thanks for this movie!!!

@Charliegirl3000 yeah, it was a good movie. they don't make movies quite like this any more. today's movies are edgy, and the characters are always moody. this movie was more like real life in the way the characters behaved.

@qwyzl its ok, the spelling... i,m from holland maybe you understand now????...i luFf this film had a deep impact on me thats all
-
@Charliegirl3000 "lose", not "loose". you can "lose" your folks in some kind of accident, but you can only "loose" your folks from their home and set them free in the wilderness. sorry, but i'm a stickler for proper spelling.

traumatised by this movie, i was only 8 or something...from that time i saw this, i was afraid everyday to loose my folks.
it hunted me for decades,....but i must say its good too see for kids.
maybe they appreciate their parents more, well.. if you have good ones
ofcourse.
its very hard for kids to watch but at the other hand, you can learn from it... great movie, but not one of the happiest :D

Can't believe this was marketed as a "kids" move way back in the day. I was only 2 years old at the movies release, but I did watch it on reruns when I was 7 or 8. Talk about a fcking depressing movie to see as a kid.
Anyway, the first half of the movie was rather slow. It didn' really get interesting until the parents were killed off and the little boy formed the relationship with the terminally cancer ridden guy.

OMG this is so emotional for me, i was about 8 when this movie came out, i was 11 when i saw this movie and for me its a emotional thing and trauma at the same time...
after this movie i was so scared to loose my parents, ironic thing was they trew me out of the house cause i wasnt the real daughter of my stephfather when i was 14,childrenshome to childrenshome..

Love this film - Tried to get it on DVD a while back after it was screened on TV but couldn't find it anywhere! Thanks a lot for posting - Brings back good memories:)
Thank you for posting this movie. I had not seen it since I was a kid many moons ago, but I have never forgotten this movie, as it was one of my mother's favorites. I thought I would get online and see if I could find it for sale somewhere to give to her for Christmas, and lo and behold here it is online. I had to watch it! :) Now, off to find it on DVD or VHS...thanks again!

Dear Stratusfever,
THANK YOU for your appreciative comment;
this film meant a great deal to Bill Holden, looking inward at the sunset of his life
Take care,
