To adults material things are important and must be kept safe, but to a child, who is not corrupted by the confines of society, know that real life is far more important. The little girl is concerned about "Bambi" being alive, and the mom denies the little girl what she is seeing. The mother does not see the living animals nor does she care when she realizes they are alive and the curator hides them behind perfection, she simply pulls her daughter away. The little ones are there to have fun.
