  • My husband and i went to Turkey 2 yrs ago.

Though we told no-one we were Gypsy or that my husbands ancestors were Turkish - they knew as soon as we started to dance together.

Now, having seen this video, and similiar, we know why! There is a movement and rythum which is unmistakeable!

We miss Turkey - we were treated so well and were adopted by a Turkish family - we will return soon, we hope.

Thank you so much, such fond memories rekindled and a pleasure to see!

    Oprey Roma!

  • I love this style of dance, where can I go and learn ? are there workshops ? is there a DVD ??

  • Soparlara bakin beyaa :D

  • I've been looking at different videos of gypsies and in the ones were they dance, I noticed how intricate their hand movements are. Do they mean anything? I know nothing of dancing and little to nothing on gypsies so... yeah. I'm a bit curious. And also, do the different dances have different names? I think they do but I haven't found any.

  • Long live to gypsy music all over balkans. The connecting music of our territory ( BALKANIA ), Serbs, Romanians, Bulgarians, Albanians, Turks and Greeks, always under a common imperors ( Alexander, Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans ). Always we are sharing the same sun, air, civilization, customs, habits, cuisine, dances, music and music instruments with the utility of nomads gypsies !!!

  • The woman on the right, wearing glasses? She should be required to carry a fire extinguisher in her handbag. Always.

    The dance was nice too.

  • this isnt no turkish gypsy dance. maybe a few selected steps

  • @buasklove You are very wrong, I am a Romani person that belongs to the middle class in Swedish society. In Romani society, I am again beloning to the middle class, and in European society as well. Maybe in Turkish society I would be of the upper class (?) and in Beveraly Hills in the lower. So I do not get your logic?
