My 1.4 Seat Altea xl can only reach 180 km/h! How can that 1.4 get 220 km/h?

its strange, i get the same top speed with the 122 hp version.

when the tacho shows 220 the real speed on gps is 209? I know that tsi 140 has speed limiter at 220 tacho

Hallo,ich besitze auch einen TSI mit aber knapp 205 PS und meine Tachonadel hat sich schon auf die 250 Marke gelegt leider hatte ich meine Kamere nicht dabei! Im LPG Betrieb sind 235 km/H Drin.

wow!! fantastic engine, only 1.4 and yet have horses compared to bigger engine. I really hope VW will introduce the TSI series in their all model range..

yeah I agree, for example for passat they sell the 1.6 automatic combination and that car can't move its mass. The 1.4 TSI would be a perfect match for passta for the small engine version and it would move as good as the 2.0 liter version....

Great guys, I will have more coming.. But need time and make sure that I do it safe. Thanks for the comments Dinos and UberOne2010... And Dinos, once I find the right road conditionsa, I will also try to go more than 220 :) and video tape it of course...

Go check the VW dealer or web site first!!!
The TSI with 170 HP (Golf GT) has the boost control!!!
TSI with 140 Hp does not have the boost control!!!
It is my car, you can not know better than me!!!
Do you want to bet on this? How much?

I don't know the exact conversion ratio but 220 KPh should be about 137-140 mph.
