The washer mover. Using a GUI, the system takes a desired washer color configuration (silver, orange, green, or empty). Then, with a webcam, the robot analyzes the current layout using image processing. This information is passes to a rearranging algorithm, which devises a series of lowest-cost moves to relocate the washers to the desired configuration. Finally, a robotic arm equipped with a homemade electromagnet rearranges the washers according to the algorithm results.
