Hey Curly, Marmot should have a way to contact you directly since you seem to be the guy who knows the gear. I just got my Eos 1p and I have a couple questions. First, thought the directions say the poles will color match the stitching on the tape, they don't they are all orange/red, none are green as it claims. Second, what are the rubber bands with grommets attached for that come with the tent? And third, is there no way to secure the footprint to the tent body when using it? Thanks!
I have one of these and always stayed perfectly dry in very windy, heavy rain conditions. Others around me in other types of tents got wet. I like sleeping without the rain fly and watching the stars on clear nights.
its a good west coast tent. but being in that on the east coast when it rains is tough. especially in the summer. you would think all that mesh ventilates well but in reality when that fly is closed shut it becomes a sauna. plus entering and exiting are impossible without crawling in the mud of getting the inside wet. it's not perfect... but it is just over 3 pounds..
One obvious flaw 0:45 I see is that people can see your stuff clearly underneat the cover. For security reasons I'd rather people not see my stuff. Otherwise an excellent tent!
