DDW vlog 1/27/2011

TRANSCRIPT: My name is Maria. I'm from Chicago, Illinois, and I work for DDW as their PR person. My job is to collect contact information from all deaf organizations, deaf schools, and so on- anything related to deafness- to promote the Journeys program and get the word out there.

I really like DDW's mission and values- they don't really go to different countries and establish their own programs. They integrate the local culture and values to show the importance of that culture, and not the "American way."

In 2011, I hope to see DDW expand more to different countries. Now DDW has partners in Thailand, Cambodia, India, and Costa Rica. I hope to see DDW partner with at least one more country. I hope that will happen this year!
