    I just brought home two budgies and they are completely silent when me or anyone else is in the room but when they are alone they chirp away! How long will this last?

    It is a lot of commitment . Although very rewarding , it is a big job to take care of a parrot . Not as easy as people think . Are you willing to take care of this bird in 40 years? 50? Some birds (like macaws) can live to be 80+ years old . People don't seem to take this fact seriously .
