Carcinogens are in EVERYTHING we consume or use daily! As of 2009 there are 6 growth promoters in our CDN beef- 5 are known carcinogens. We breathe in fumes from bathroom cleaners, air fresheners, we absorb them in our spores from laundry sheets. We drink the dyes. Our bodies do not rid the carcinogens! They build like lego forming a type of cancer! C'mon- do your home work!

I'm not saying the don't do GOOD things...in fact, they do lots of good things...I'm just saying that I'd rather not GET Cancer and they are not doing enough on PREVENTION...I don't smoke, I eat organic veggies, I exercise, tell me something new...tell me how to not get cancer besides the same crap you've been telling me for the last40 years. The fact is they only spend 10% on prevention (I think it actually went up to 18% since this doc aired), and that is unacceptable. we need more for our $!!

Hey I know how you feel, I do the same, and I tell people where their money goes, they look at me as if im from another planet!!!
So much ignorance and naive people in this world. We are taught that its ok to believe in lies with santa claus, and then for the rest of our lives, we think its OK that our governments can lie to us! I will continue to educate the masses, and give my money to those who are finding cures, check out sethgroup online.

Did you know that 30% of cancer deaths are caused by smoking? It kills 13000 people/yr in ON. OH BTW ~20% of Canadians still smoke!
Even the documentary recognized the work they have done in this area.
CCS was a leader at advocating for a ban on pesticide sale and use in Ontario. The law was passed in the spring and will come into effect next year.
You're right--people should do their research.

I saw this whole thing in it's entirety once on TV and it was very eye opening and informative....I haven't financially supported the Canadian Cancer Society since....however, because supporting the Canadian Cancer Society is so trendy, I get scorned by people when I tell them that I don't support them because they don't spend enough on prevention. People should research where they donate their money and how the org spends it before donating, & not just give cuz it's cool at the time.
